Code of Conduct
There is only so much space on the sites' rules areas where one can lay down rules, so only the most salient rules can be included. And I have many. Very many.As such, I hope to write something much more comprehensive here. These rules are universal across all my media and Web 2.0 sites except where specifically noted. By using any of these sites or resources, you indicate your acceptance to be bound by these rules whether you have read them or not.DISCLAIMER: These rules can and will be amended at absolutely any time at my sole discretion. It is incumbent on you to keep abreast of any rules updates when they are published. However, I will make best-effort attempts to announce revisions to the policy where practical.Furthermore, any manner of discipline not based on explicitly-enumerated policies will be enforced entirely at my own sole personal discretion. Likewise, enumeration of new policies based on aforementioned misbehavior is subject to the "Don't Be That Person" rule and will also take place at my own sole discretion.

Code of Conduct
Don't Be That Person! (DBTP)
I got this one from one of the conventions I have staffed for. They call it "Don't Be That Guy", but I elected to make an adjustment to this, hence the "Don't Be That Person".Simply put into a sentence that encapsulates the meaning of this section:"Don't Be That Person to behave in such a way that I must now codify a rule against such behavior."That said, this policy page is very much a work-in-progress.So are various forms of misbehavior, unfortunately. As such, if I see a form of behavior directed my way of which I disapprove, I will codify a rule for same and mark it like this:(DBTP) This is a misbehavior I do not want you to engage in.I am deciding whether to add examples of which so people can understand what I am talking about.Basically, please, to make things easier and nicer on you and me, Don't Be That Person!

Code of Conduct
General Code of Conduct
These rules apply regardless of the medium with which you are interacting with me or others. To the extent where exceptions come up, they will be so noted.
You must be at least 13 years of age to create accounts on many of these sites. In the United States, there is the force of federal law behind this rule.
Please use common sense and common courtesy.
Please be civil, kind and considerate to me and your fellow fans.
Please use best-practices online personal safety practices.
I have adopted a zero-tolerance stance on bigotry, demeaning or aggressive speech of any kind on any of my sites! BEWARE: VIOLATING THIS RULE IS A POINT OF NO RETURN, SO DO NOT TEST ME!
(DBTP)Do not be a creeper.
Four words: Don't. Be. That. Person!
In other words, "don't be that person" whose behavior I have to codify a rule against I want banned. See the previous section for more information about this concept. Please do not discuss the private details of any individual, including yourself or me.
NB: If you know me personally, please do not discuss any matters of my private life as these fall under my specific purview. That is to say, let me discuss my own private life if I so choose; do not do this for me.
That said, if someone else has to speak for me, I will give them specific authorization to do so should such need arise.Absolutely no memes! I find these to be a form of low-effort humor.
Please follow any applicable federal, state/provincial/prefectural and municipal laws, ordinances and norms concerning online conduct.
As I have heard on some spaceflight comm loops, "Try to have some fun out there." While I do not make this an absolute requirement, I really do hope you enjoy yourself, maybe even learn a thing or two with me on some of my other streams where I may not be gaming!

Code of Conduct
Stream Chat Code of Conduct
These rules apply to whichever streaming service on which I am streaming. To the extent where exceptions come up, they will be so noted. The General Rules also apply here!
If you see any technical difficulties, be it sound levels, video trouble, video quality issues or just downright down, please let me know immediately! That way I can troubleshoot, and fix things on the fly.
While I can speak several languages to varying degrees (I know some German and Japanese), I need you to keep the chat in standard English. By "standard" English, please use language that doesn't require me to ask the meaning of what you are saying. Speaking regional English or occupational jargon which may require me to ask about it is okay. Speaking in heavy slang, in code (i.e. "dogwhistling") or in multiple languages which uses English in code-switching is not.
Please do not backseat my gameplay unless I very specifically ask or tag the stream otherwise.
In the above, "otherwise" can include for the purposes of help or just outright entertainment. The stream may be tagged with "BackseatingAllowed", "BackseatingEncouraged", or, hell, maybe even, "BackseatingRequired". Sometimes, the best entertainment can come from the audience.
Regardless of the medium, no spoilers!
Please do not engage in discussions about other streamers or VTubers unless I bring them up first or I countermand this rule verbally or with a stream tag. When in doubt, there is absolutely no harm if you ask.
Please do not engage in self-promotion unless I countermand this rule verbally, I ask, allow or encourage you to do so, or with a stream tag. When in doubt, there is absolutely no harm if you ask. Furthermore, if I know you, I will not hesitate to promote the heck out of you. I also shout out raiders.
There are bits of streamer culture I feel I need to take a stand on. One is the "pog" term/"pogchamp" emote. The "pog emote" usually involves an undignified facial expression. When shown by the person who originated the original "pogchamp" emote on Twitch, I take extreme exception to it. Please read my FAQ page's discussion of culture behavior for more on this subject.
Discussion of sensitive or controversial topics is prohibited. Examples include the usual offenders of religion and politics. Other examples include but are not limited to NFTs, AI, cryptocurrency, world events.
Please refrain from trauma dumping. Some venting is okay; trauma dumping is not.
NB: As of September 2023, my own life is a bit of a train wreck at the moment, so I may discuss some of it to keep you informed, though I will try to keep myself from trauma-dumping on you as an audience, especially since I ask you to not do so.

Code of Conduct
Direct Message (DM) Code of Conduct
These rules apply to DMs, PMs, queries, whichever off-stream chat I operate, host, or otherwise sponsor, such as Discord, IRC, wherever. To the extent where exceptions come up, they will be so noted.Note that I try to keep my DMs open so any other streamer/VTuber/journalist can get in contact with me in something resembling real time. Please do not abuse this! The General Rules also apply here!
Discord: While I keep my Discord DMs open, I ask that you follow several rules. DO NOT DM me if your own DMs are closed, i.e. you must send me a friend request in order to talk to me. AN EXCEPTION: If you are a well-established VTuber or individual I am likely to have heard of and/or we have prior arrangements, I will (very likely) accept such requests.
Twitter/X, Threads, BlueSky, similar: I keep my DMs open for other streamers/VTubers/journalists/site operators to contact me. Please use a public account to DM me. Do NOT use a "protected" account which requires me to request permission to follow.
IRC: I will vet anything over IRC before I even accept any query. Please bear this in mind.
(DBTP) Regardless of chat provider: Please do not offer any unsolicited advice for my streams. To be absolutely clear on this matter, if I want such advice, I will very specifically ask for it. More often than not, this is a preface for this next item.
(DBTP) Regardless of chat provider: Unless I am friends with you, please, DO NOT approach me about any graphics design work (GFX)! I usually will be the one to reach out. As the old showbiz saying says, "Don't call me; I'll call you." I will not hesitate to use any manner of disciplinary action granted me on wherever I am. If I do not have any access, I will do anything including ignoring such messages to straight-up blocking you. If I own or have substantially meaningful control over a given forum, I will not hesitate to ban you from same.

Off-stream Chat Code of Conduct
These rules apply to whichever off-stream chat I operate, host, or otherwise sponsor, such as Discord, IRC, wherever. To the extent where exceptions come up, they will be so noted. The General Rules also apply here!
Please act in accordance to the hosting network, e.g. Discord, EsperNet (an IRC network I may end up using), or wherever.
All other foregoing rules, including stream chat rules, apply to a certain extent.
Since there is much less immediacy in terms of interaction, please take your time to consider what you are saying. Take into consideration the speaker's position before responding.
Given the lesser immediacy mentioned above, controversial/sensitive topics are a bit easier to deal with here, so they are allowed to a certain extent. However, please tread with care when discussing anything like this, even in this context.
Please take any personal matters to either DMs or queries where possible. Also, please try not to let a matter get to the point where either a mod (Discord), a channel op (IRC) or I have to intervene.
Building on the "no memes" rule in the General Code of Conduct, please do not ask for a memes-related channel on my Discord server. Same is not just a place for you to interact with me when I am not streaming or with your fellow fans; it is my refuge from the stupidity that are the memes out there. I will not create one. That said, please do your part by keeping the memes out of my chat spaces.

Code of Conduct
E-mail Code of Conduct
These rules apply to interactions over e-mail. My e-mail is divided into two "realms", one being hosted by others, including Google's GMail, while the other I host myself personally on a server I personally manage. Most policies here will involve the latter, my own mailserver. To the extent where exceptions come up, they will be so noted. The General Rules also apply here!
All rules in the General Code of Conduct apply here, too. This applies to all e-mail, whether I host it myself or not.
I am postmaster of my own server, so I reserve absolute authority of what gets to transit my server, so a vast majority of these rules will apply to said server. Since this is my own mailserver, I have much more control over how, which, or even whether mail flows into my mail server.
If you send anything to my personal server, i.e. anything to an @kattphloxworthy.com address, I would prefer that you have working reverse DNS. Depending on operators' competence in the future, I may alter this policy.
If you are trying to send to an @kattphloxworthy.com account and are having difficulty, please send any messages, including any bounce messages or, if you have the access, server log entries, to postmaster@kattphloxworthy.com. This address has no controls on it as required by RFC 5321, allowing any mail to enter. Also try to include date and time when attempts made so I can correlate them in my logs. If you need to tell me over various chats, e.g. Twitter/Ecks, Discord, or while I'm streaming, please let me know.
If your server sends mail to where it needlessly consumes my mailserver's resources or you harass me via e-mail to my own server, I will not hesitate to tarpit or even outright block you. This can be at any of a number of levels, whether by envelope sender (RCPT TO: phase), whether by individual username or entire domain, IP address or subnet (at the socket level). I will make a best-effort attempt to include a message describing remedial actions which can be taken.
If you need to send anything sensitive to me, please be advised that as of this writing (September 7, 2023), I do not have the capability of signing and/or encrypting e-mail whether via S-MIME or via PGP. Once this matter is resolved, I will revise this policy.

Revision history
This section enumerates any changes made since the document's creation.
04/19/2024
Fixed an error in the next/home/previous switching logic where the e-mail page was unreachable.
Redid the switching logic in the previous/home/next switching logic where it follows the order on the main page.
03/30/2024
Added a section about a concept that I do not think I ever implemented here but have elsewhere, "Don't Be That Person" (DBTP). This involves behavior I would just as soon not see to where I feel the need to codify a rule prohibiting same. These rules will be marked with: (DBTP) Rule goes here. I have retroactively marked previous rules that would have gone into this category. I also added the mechanisms to include this page in the rule sequence as well as the main page.
Speaking of DBTP, I added a rule about offering unsolicited streaming advice, especially since it has been used as a weasel way to segue into offering GFX design and art services. As this was behavior which I had to experience, I added a "(DBTP)" tag. I also worked this in such a way that it segues into the no-GFX-work DBTP rule as it appears to be used as a pretext to offer such services.
Added this note because... well... shit. I actually did in fact add a "Don't Be That Person" rule in the General section, but only barely glossing on what it is. It's the entire section that spells it out in much greater detail.
Revised the General instance of "Don't Be That Person" to back-reference the newly-defined-in-greater-detail concept.
Put a block of text in each section to remind the reader that the General Rules apply as a superset of the rules enumerated in the given section.
03/26/2024
Added some clarification about "backseating". I may do some streams where backseating is not just allowed but encouraged or, heck, even required. Such backseating maybe not even just for help. Sometimes, backseating can result in, or even be, its own kind of entertainment, not just from the outcome of backseating, but even the backseating itself. :3 Ah, so much untapped potential is out there...
02/04/2024
Added the word "Aggressive" to the no-bigotry rule to catch cases I did not cover in my original rule. The net thus widens.
02/02/2024
Added the word "Violating" to the no-bigotry rule to make it abundantly clear that violating the rule is a point of no return.
Also added "SO DO NOT TEST ME" verbiage to match my policies on my channels. This is to root out any outlier cases as well as to make sure that infractions, whether overt or attempted, will not go unnoticed.
01/21/2024
Cleaned up the punctuation of the "Off-stream Chat Code of Conduct" section.
Cleaned up a revision entry which had extraneous text which had no business being there.
01/12/2024
Added a DM section. If you are a graphics artist wanting me to commission you, please get to know me first. Also, please read my Discord "About me" text. I tend to want to work with established artists and will reach out first.
12/17/2023
Very much a meta revision of the revision list, mainly to its appearance. Each set of revisions is a bulletpoint block based on date.
11/04/2023
Added the first streaming rule asking that you, the viewer, immediately alert me immediately of any technical difficulties.
10/15/2023
Added the word "against" in the "don't be that person" rule to clarify any possible ambiguity about how this rule works.
I also codified my position on memes: Memes are not welcome in my spaces. As such, I will not have them on-stream nor will a channel dedicated to same be created on my Discord server.
10/08/2023
Added clarification on misbehavior not based on any enumerated rules, saying that discipline and enumeration of new policies based on misbehavior warranting discipline will be at my own sole personal discretion pursuant to the "Don't Be That Person" rule.
09/19/2023
Added the "Don't be that person" rule. Basically, "Don't be that person" against whose behavior I need to codify new rules.
09/08/2023
Corrected some typos and adjusted verbiage in menus for consistency - basically, minor stuff - nothing too earth-shattering; fixed titles from when this was merely a copy of the FAQ page (the goal was to replicate the page's overall look and style)
